Simply changing the way you breathe for a couple of minutes could reduce the anxiety and stress you’re feeling right away. How? By focusing your energy on your breaths, you can actually begin to self-soothe and relieve stress.
When you start to feel overwhelmed, follow these steps:
Close your eyes
Take a deep breath in and hold it for 5 seconds
Release and exhale
Repeat the inhale and exhale motion while honing in on every breath. Let your mind release its thoughts and focus only on your breathing.
