You created your app because you’re a fitness expert and you know that people will benefit from your expertise. While the workouts in your app are what draw in new subscribers, the key to a successful subscription business is creating a well-rounded bundle of content.
Outside of workouts, your app — and your social channels! — must include lifestyle content. Sharing your everyday life and what makes you you with subscribers will keep them engaged and leave them wanting more.
In addition to your workouts, here are a few examples of lifestyle content you should include as a video series in your app:
Mindset: Positive thinking is an important aspect of overall health and well-being. Share your tips for developing and maintaining a positive mindset.
Beauty and grooming tips: Are your followers constantly DMing you on Instagram to ask you about your go-to products? Share your favorites, and, as a bonus, you can then market this app-exclusive content on social media to get new app subscribers.
Career or life coaching: What have you learned throughout your journey so far that you think novice fitness coaches and aspiring wellness entrepreneurs might benefit from?
Meals and recipes: Share your favorite recipes as well as healthy living tips and tricks.
Parenting advice: This one is a bit niche, but if your target audience is made up of new moms and you’re a parent yourself, share any tips and tricks you’ve learned along the way.
To create a lifestyle video series, build it either as a program or as a category, using the steps outlined here for creating long-form videos.
If your video series is very structured (think: lessons, order) then creating a program Series is best. If the only thing linking your videos together is the topic and there's less structure and order, create a category.
Devon Levesque's “Life Tips” category where he shares his go-to grooming products and advice for entrepreneurs on investing in companies.
Hannah Bower's “Mindset Monday” program in which she discusses the mental struggles that we often face throughout our fitness journeys.
Clark Bartram's “Cooking with Clark,” “Motivational Videos,” and “Nutrition Insight" programs and categories.
